The Canby Chamber of Commerce met on December 10^th at 5:00PM.  The meeting was called to order by President Diana Fliss.  Members present were Pat Stanley, Chris Grussing, Ron Fjerkenstad, Al Fordyce and Florene Dybsetter. 

Old business discussed was the Christmas movies.  We were going to double check and make sure they were ordered properly and that Santa would be at the last one to hand out candy and greet the kids.

Lighting contest will be judged on December 12^th and $175.00 will be given out in Canby Bucks for the prizes.  First place will receive $100.00, 2^nd will receive $50.00 and 3^rd place $25.00.  After the winners are announced in the Canby News, Florene will make sure the Canby Bucks are distributed to them. 

The Christmas drawings are being held as scheduled.   All the businesses have the Canby Bucks in hand.

We then moved on to new business.  A new location for the Chamber office was discussed.  Diana sent a letter to the depot stating that we would not be moving our office there.  It looks like the Canby News will be the new location for the Chamber office. 

We have had no one come forward to volunteer to be a new board member.  Pat Stanley has agreed to stay on for one more term.  We still need replacements for Chris Grussing, Belinda Evjen and Joyce Olson-Baer.  They are also looking for a new Secretary-Treasurer.  Florene will be stepping down from this position. 

Parrot Bay had their Grand Opening on December 14^th.  We did not hear back from them pertaining to a ribbon cutting so Florene ordered a plant to be delivered to them from the Chamber on Saturday.

Arctic Blast will be held January 17^th and 18^th.  Friday evening there will be a chili cook-off and a teen dance.  Saturday there will be Arctic Golf, Kids ice fishing contest, Kids Bowling tournament, Kids activities at the High School and Phil Baker will be performing at 2:30.  The big event the Polar Plunge will take place at noon at Del Clark Lake.  There will be a dance with a DJ at the Parrot Bay on Saturday evening from 9 to 12.  It looks like a fun-filled week-end. 

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting.  Motion was carried.  The next meeting will be held at 5PM at DeToy's on January 14^th.
