Canby Chamber of Commerce meetingNovember 18th, 2003 – PK Egan’s
The Canby Chamber of Commerce met at 5:00 PM on November 18th at PK Egan’s with the following board members present: Diana Fliss, Pat Stanley, Ron Fjerkenstad, Jeff Harms and Derrick Ruether. Also present were Ellie Beman, Don Beman, Joyce Olson-Baer, Mike Baer, Loren Hacker, Dawn Bradley and Doug Hintz
Diana called the meeting to order and read the secretary’s report. Don presented the treasurer’s report.
Arctic Blast was discussed and events were reviewed. Diana shared with the Board a draft of the flyer.
The board discussed potential board candidates. We have no commitments at this time.
The Christmas Calendar was shared with the board. Otter Tail Power will again be sponsoring the lighting contest.
The upcoming annual meeting was discussed along with proposed dates, activities. The board will make the final plans at it’s December meeting.
Dawn Bradley and Doug Hintz were present to give a brief synopsis of AFLAC and it’s benefits to employers.
Hat Daze – Canby’s 125th birthday celebration was discussed. The next event is the Whopper Feed and Alumni Basketball Tournament to be held on November 29th. Volunteers would be appreciated.
We had a ribbon cutting for Nancy Bormann this past week due to her moving to a new location. We need to contact John Thelen and Todd Lacek for possible additional ribbon cuttings.
Our next regular meeting will be December 9th at the Canby VFW at 5:00 PM.
