Canby Chamber of Commerce meetingJanuary 13th, 2004 – DeToy’s
The Canby Chamber of Commerce met at 5:00 PM on January 13th at DeToy’s with the following board members present: Pat Stanley and Diana Fliss. Also present were Don and Ellie Beman, Loren Hacker and Kelli Palmquist.
Diana called the meeting to order and presented the secretary’s report. Don presented the treasurer’s report.
The upcoming annual meeting was discussed. It will be held January 23rd at 6 pm just prior to the Arctic Blast Chili Cook-off at the Canby VFW. The agenda will be brief – minutes, financial report, list of paid members, activities for the year and welcoming the new board members.
Arctic Blast was discussed and events were reviewed. Diana will contact KLQP about some radio advertising (approx $75) and Ellie will work with the Marshall Independent to put an ad there. Diana will also email Shawn Cable for mention on KELO land.
We have not found any other new potential board candidates. The board will continue to contact and recruit potential new board members.
Diana presented a proposed budget for 2004. Loren Hacker motioned and Kelli Palmquist seconded the motion to adopt the budget as presented.
The board received a letter asking for support for the YMC Fair. This was tabled until the next meeting.
Diana left a message with Todd Lacek to set up a ribbon cutting for the Corner Store – but has not had a return call. Kelli said she’d stop by and visit with him. It was also determined to send a plant for the Southview Open House.
