4) MN West “Get Connected” Day –Katie Delaney from MN West did report on this event. Overall, the event was a big success! However, MN West and the Chamber did receive some negative feedback received from 2 local businesses. Kari Harding approved all vendors/certificates that were in each bag. However, the concern was certain coupons in the Welcome bags were photo copies instead of actual certificates. For the event next year, actual signed certificates will be required by each business. Derrick is drafting an apology letter to those businesses that were negatively impacted.
5) Canby Chamber Coordinator – Kelli summarized the feedback she received regarding the various responsibilities this role may entail. Toni Rustand volunteered for this position. There was some confusion over which responsibilities on the list should be the Secretary vs Treasurer’s position or the Coordinators. Before further decisions on this position are made, the Board is going to review the Bylaws to determine if there is a need for this extra position. Ellie also reviewed the information she found on the MN Chamber of Commerce site as far as Executive position guidelines. This position will be further discussed at the next Semi-annual Board meeting on 9/27. It is unknown where the actual Canby Chamber bylaws were stored by the previous Board. Previous attempts to find these bylaws by the Board have failed. Karen Houtman volunteered to try and find the bylaws.
6) 2006 Citizen of the Year – Barb asked the Chamber if photographs were taken of the Chamber 2006 Citizen of the Year to display in the City Hall. Don reported they have the photos.
